My daughter started a new job recently. Reminds me of how exhilarating it can be to make a fresh start, to just start over.
On the other hand, it can also be very scary. On my ongoing Journey to Palm Canyon, I find myself periodically experiencing the full gamut of emotions. There’s been so much opportunity for personal growth that, at times, it feels quite daunting.
It’s been a big change to leave a job I felt very comfortable in to pursue the chance to be my own boss and create a new lifestyle. Maybe you can relate to this if you’ve experienced a recent change of some kind.
Here’s what I’m focusing on in order to keep myself exhilarated and on a positive path:
Breathe. Take in only what I need and let the rest just go on by. It’s easy, but not productive, to start to feel overwhelmed.
Be flexible. Sometimes things don’t go as planned. I want to be strong and flexible, like a palm tree, not breaking in the harsh winds.
Stay in the moment. Each new day (really, each minute!) is a chance to begin anew, to wipe the slate clean and try once again to practice being the best “me” I can be.
Okay, let’s all take a deep breath now . . . and just start over.
